As part of our work in literacy we’ve been creating animations of Tom’s Midnight Garden. They are very nearly finished, but we thought we’d let you have a look behind the scenes at how we’ve been making them.

We were lucky enough to get a last minute opportunity, thanks Mr C! So today we’ve been to Aston University to work with some civil engineers. We built a replica suspension bridge using the real technology.

Last week the whole school enjoyed sport week. We played football, shook our stuff along to a DVD, did some athletics, tennis not to mention our Year 5 and 6 sports day on Tuesday.

We had World Book Day last Friday and 5ZC really got into the spirit of things, dressing to impress.

We celebrated the start of the World Cup in South Africa this afternoon.
We watched the opening ceremony live, started a class sweepstake, made flags of our teams and created 3D footballs.
Over the next few weeks we hope to follow the events in South Africa closely and look forward to learning more about all the countries taking part.
